Memorial Weekend

Too sleepy to write much tonight and a busy day tomorrow, as even though I have been on vacation over the weekend... my Inbox has not been. ;) It was a great Memorial Day weekend, and our kids had so much fun. Little party animals, we're creating!

A brief recap:

...a rainy evening, an easy supper and family time in the basement. Brandon dumped every single toy bucket out on the floor, and Jaden and I bonded over Mario.

...shopping for a new table for our deck, Deanne's birthday, a family dinner at Brown Bottle and a post-supper visit to the park to burn off all that food our boys devoured. I've never seen them eat so well. Brandon ate three pieces of his children's pizza, Jaden ate his entire pizza plus a piece of Brandon's, and they enjoyed some of Deanne's birthday cake. The park right across the street was the perfect night cap. Jaden, Brandon and Ella ran and played perfectly together while the adults sat on the benches and planned summer-time tubing and camping trips. And Brandon's appearance by the end of the night? The all-American boy. Dirt smeared from head to toe, sweaty hair and a smile plastered on his face.

...Brandon rocked his first morning in his new Sunday school class, Cody and my dad put together our new table and we spent as much time as we could around the water. It was a hot one!

Brandon spent the afternoon running around in nothing but a diaper and even decided he didn't feel like a nap. After an hour in his room, he was getting pretty chatty, and as soon as I opened his bedroom door, he threw his hands out to the side and said, "All done?!"

This child has skinned knees all the time!

...Sunday afternoon... we visited Beaver Hills pool for the first time this year, and our kids were little fishies.

They both enjoyed going down the water slide over and over again, and Brandon lived up to his dare devil nickname by jumping in off the edge repeatedly (into Daddy's arms of course). When it was time to leave after almost three hours, Brandon protested by sitting down in the zero entry side of the pool, shoving his hands in his laps and yelling, "No house!" I believe this was his way of saying that he didn't want to go home. ;)

Memorial Day Monday...

...a cookout to initiate our new table. Lots of meat, garlic bread, potato foil packs, fresh fruit, chocolate chip cookies and yummy drinks. Oh yeah... and family.

I'll let the pictures do the talking...

Lots of fun moments - lots of fun memories... and the best ending to it all. Lying next to Brandon in bed, cheek to cheek, and hearing him say, "Love you, Mommy."

Sleepy time...
