Friday night family movie night. Popcorn, Valentine M&M's and a new potato soup recipe. Cody and I are both really picky about potato soup, but we finally found a recipe that we both like from the Pioneer Woman. Makes for really good leftovers, too!
Nana's and Papa's. A Saturday morning spent with one set, a Saturday night sleepover with the other set while Mommy and Daddy had a night out. It's so nice to have the grandparents so close. We are spoiled by it.
A night out for Mommy and Daddy... some Famous Dave's and a sold out basketball game.
A Sunday morning church service followed by a quiet day at home. I love Sundays. We always make sure we have good food on hand, there is usually something baking in the oven, and we always make time for reading, cuddling, and checking things off the to-do list. I finished the invitations for Brandon's birthday party, finally got some Ikea frames hung on the wall and helped the boys with their homework...
Jaden has his 100-day celebration at school and needed to make a special cape for it. He also had to decorate a Valentine's box and write his name on a set of 20 Valentine's. Brandon has two parties this week, and the teachers requested that he write his own name on every single Valentine. He rocked it and took it very seriously... as I knew he would.
Trying to capture a picture of Lucy getting in the way of homework time... but got graduation day material for Brandon instead. Stop picking your nose, buddy!! :)
Crafting can keep them occupied for hours.
See that tongue? He has been sticking it out since the moment he left the womb! :)
Super yummy made-from-scratch chocolate cookies. Like... melt in your mouth good.
The start of a picture wall... the hardest part is deciding which pictures to display.
...other good things...
Bacon burgers for Sunday dinner and a cup of hot chocolate right before bed...
Cody telling me out of the blue on Sunday how happy he is with me and our life together. It's not always perfect or easy, but it's always worth it.
Daddy and Jaden coming up with the perfect Valentine's box... watching them together at the table after supper, with cutting knives, pencils, scissors and a cutting board. My perfectionist husband and my six year old boy who is still so excited about "homework." They are adding to it tonight, but here is the result. Donatello is ready to eat some Valentine's!
Folks, there's 40 degrees in next week's forecast, and we are almost halfway through February. Green grass, chirping birds and Spring rain will be here before we know it. Sit tight!
