"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2014"
Typical Jaden during a party. Give him food. Give him people. He doesn't stop eating. And he doesn't stop talking and laughing. Dreading the day that blue cup turns into a red solo cup at parties. I have a feeling he'll be the life of them. ;) Even though it was Brandon's birthday week, Jaden had a big week, too. We had parent/teacher conferences with his teacher, and he is kicking kindergarten butt. He has met all the criteria they set for Kindergartners to reach by the end of the school year, and his teacher is going to send first grade stuff home with him this week. She went on and on again about how much of a joy he is, how much of a role model he is, and how much his learning has seemed to spike just since Christmas. On his Friday off from school, he spent the entire day at a camp at the Rec Center. We packed a sack lunch for him, dropped him off first thing in the morning and didn't pick him up until the end of the day. He spent the entire day with kids he'd never met before, playing sports, doing crafts and watching movies. When I got there to pick him up, he was sweaty from a game of dodge ball in the gym, and his instructor for the day commented on how good of a kid he is. He crashed that night... super tired from running all day and activities that were so needed in this brutal winter of being stuck inside.
His first week of being four. He started swimming lessons, brought brownies to his friends at daycare on Monday and has his first big sleepover at Papa Tim and Nana Deanne's while Mommy and Daddy head out of town for a few days. I can't wait to see this kid on his new bike outside. There's lots of things to look forward to. The extended forecast being one of them!
