oh sweet spring weekend

If only our weekend had a shelf life longer than two days. I'd bottle it up and save it for future use when the winter blues and cabin fever get to be too much. It was so good and so needed and so refreshing. Fresh air is a miracle worker, and this weekend was just the boost I needed to gain some encouragement and momentum for the month ahead. April is going to be a doozy.

Our weekend included...

...a Friday night, Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon with this guy. In just a few days, Dasher has already made his mark in our family and in our hearts, and we are so in love with him. He is so fun and loving, and that face? It could stop a train, I swear.

...countless hours outside. Bike rides, scooter rides and trying to train a puppy to stay in his own yard.

Those three right there? Best friends for life.

...haircuts for both boys and a Saturday morning Target run for Mommy all by herself. A shoe sale and my first iced coffee of the season.

...a request for a Saturday lunch outside and their favorite yogurt smoothies.

...a stop at a park with my youngest before swimming lessons while Daddy and Jaden cleaned the garage from the winter buildup that always occurs. I came home to an organized garage and new bird food in the feeders.

And he swings like a big kid now.

And climbs the rock wall like a pro.

...a UNI basketball banquet Saturday night, a Sunday morning church service, open doors and windows and a happy cat.

...bubble blowing and time in our tree swing.

...catch in the yard while lunch cooked on the stove.

...a Sunday afternoon of introducing Dash to the extended family. This puppy is getting visitors like a new baby.

...an afternoon at the park while Daddy worked on landscape designs. Acorn collecting and a big brother pushing his little brother in the baby swing. The older they get, the more they fight but the deeper their bond grows.

Helping him cross the street...

...chalk drawings in the driveway while Daddy fired up the grill and Nana and Papa watched from the deck. The first Sunday night grill-out of the season, and it all tasted and smelled so good.

...learning from Daddy.

...spending the entire Sunday evening outside. Jaden watching football highlights on Papa's phone and Brandon serenading us by singing the "Happy" song over cheese and crackers.

...a visit to our creek from our two duck friends and a training session on Duck calls. The neighbors had to have been wondering what the heck was going on.

...Sunday night Dairy Queen for Mommy and Daddy and Grey's and Parenthood catch-up on the DVR.

...such a fun weekend. I can't wait for more like it.
