more happy things.

...a Friday night spent under the moon.

We went out for supper, swung through Walmart to pick up a new bat and a set of balls for Jaden and then headed to the park. We stayed out late, Brandon climbed all over the playground and Jaden and Daddy practiced Jaden's swing on the diamond. By the time we packed it in, the full moon was out in force and the sun had set.

Someone's been a little picture poser lately...

...a new tailgating toy. We happened across some fun tailgating accessories while picking up Jaden's new bat and got some good "Touchdown Toss" practice in this weekend. Looking forward to lots of fun spent around this thing in the UNI-Dome parking lot this Fall.

...family games of Monopoly Jr. Jaden has been playing this game at daycare this summer and has become a fan. And it's a good way for younger kids to understand the value of money and what happens to you when it all runs out! And who wouldn't want to pretend to buy an Ice Cream Shop or a town swimming pool?! ;)

...a Saturday night spent under the moon, too, as we headed out for the Iowa Sweet Corn Festival downtown Waterloo. The boys got to spend time in the jumping houses, run through the splash pad, Papa Tim bought three different kinds of popcorn, and Cody and Brandon played corn hole while I finally had the opportunity to watch my friend Justin perform. He resides in Nashville and is touring with Trace Adkins in September!

...a quiet and easy Sunday nursing some under the weather kiddos. Nothing too bad - Jaden had a runny nose and Brandon had a low-grade fever and the sleepies. I pampered myself with a couple of hours away from home for a fresh hair cut and color and we let the boys be lazy with some rented movies - the Lego Movie - and some old classics, Free Willy 2 and Honey I Shrunk the Kids. After everyone started feeling better, we sat outside with our easel and colors. I read my book, Brandon let nature be his inspiration and Jaden worked on his football spiral.

...and once the fever broke, a late evening trip for some ice cream. We are loving this August weather lately.

...we are on vacation time the rest of the week and are looking forward to lots of fun things before the new routine of school and football starts next week. We're backsplash tiling our kitchen, visiting some new places, going on a fun road trip, doing some shopping and visiting the Falls pool one last time before it shuts down for the summer.

I'll be back next week with lots of stories to tell!
