"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2015"
We're the walking wounded around here! I got a call from the school nurse at the end of last week telling us that Jaden had fallen on the back of his head at recess, was a little dizzy, and that though he seemed okay, we should be monitoring him throughout the night. When I asked him how he fell so hard, he told me he'd gone up for a wild rebound while playing a game of basketball and landed head-first, while catching the ball. (He was pretty proud of himself that he at least managed to get the rebound). ;) Then on Sunday while on a walk at the park with Papa Tim and Nana Deanne, he ran head first into a metal bar and ended up with a red and bruised cheekbone from it. Other than that, he's found a new interest in fishing shows this week and gets really excited to watch River Monsters with Daddy at night. ;)
And then there's Brandon. He's managed to take three big falls, scraping up his elbow, his hand, his stomach -- and the same knee all three times. He's fallen twice in our driveway, once at the daycare playground... and then managed to fall out of bed in the middle of the night the other night - right onto his forehead. I know it's normal for boys to take tumbles but that's a lot in one week, and the poor kiddo is a walking Band-Aid right now. A couple of surprise ice cream treats from Papa Bob and Nana have helped to cheer him up, as well as bubbles and sunglasses and his pet worm that he won't let go out of his bug carrier. He makes sure he's always supplied with grass, dirt and a little bit of water. He currently resides in our garage. ;)
