"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2015"

Jaden: What a special weekend for this one. He attended his first UNI basketball banquet on Saturday night, a celebration of the season and a final thank-you to the seniors, and he had a chance to say one last goodbye to his favorite - Seth Tuttle. And right in the middle of Seth's final stand at the podium as a Panther, he pointed to Jaden in the back of the crowd and thanked his "little buddy." Jaden responded with a big grin and a big wave back while everyone in attendance looked on, and it's a moment that will be remembered by our family forever. I'm so thankful to these older "boys" and athletes that go out of their way to make my boy - and others - feel so special. It's not very often that a national All-American basketball player thanks a seven year old boy in the middle of his senior speech!

Brandon: He went on his longest bike ride yet in the midst of our beautiful Saturday - a trek around our favorite Big Woods Lake. And I swear... he could have ridden circles around that lake all day long. He LOVED it. And when we had to pull to a stop so that Daddy could adjust the chains on Jaden's bike, Brandon just found a patch of wild flowers off the trail and put together a bundle to hand to his mama. I love this about our boy... no matter what's going on, he always takes time to pick the wildflowers and smell the roses.
