"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2015"

Jaden: He had his first football game of the season this past Saturday, and we couldn't have scripted it better. At quarterback, he threw for a big first down. At running back, he ran for a first down. And at wide receiver, when the game was on the line in a sudden death overtime, he caught a pass in full coverage, broke through the four defenders surrounding him, and ran it to the other end of the field for a touchdown and a win for the Chargers. The sidelines cleared out as all his teammates ran up the field to meet him in the end zone for a celebration, and on the way to the car afterwards, he told Papa Tim that he prayed for that touchdown in his bed the night before. Papa told him God wouldn't answer every prayer with a yes, but he would answer a lot of them. It was a really fun day.

Brandon: As good as gold all weekend long. He was perfect through Jaden's game, sat through the entire UNI game in the Dome with all of Jaden's buddies, and created his own art projects Sunday afternoon while the rest of the house watched David Johnson in his NFL debut. And after all that football, he asked late Sunday night if we could go outside and play catch. He was given a little UNI football on the field after the game on Saturday, the perfect size for his little hands, and he told us that he throws it so hard and fast, we can't even see it spiral. ;)
