...a Saturday morning to myself. Christmas shopping, a bag full of seasonal Bath & Body Works goodies to make our home smell like the season and an afternoon spent gathered around our table making gingerbread houses to compliment the trees in the boys' bedrooms.
...a Saturday evening playoff game in the Dome and a victory for our Panthers. Jaden and all his best buds congregating in the bleachers a few rows behind us and our sweet Brandon spending the whole game coloring Christmas pictures for us. In his Santa hat, of course.
...a Sunday morning of church followed by more baking for another Thanksgiving gathering. Chocolate cookies made out of Devil's food cake mix and Andes mints. A confetti cheese ball paired with pretzels. And fajita rolls made by my husband to go along with another round of turkey, potatoes and Grandma Alda's amazing raspberry pie.
...the coziest of feelings every evening as we tuck ourselves inside for the night amidst the glow of the Christmas trees. We've started our Advent countdown, with Mary and Joseph in ready and anticipated position in the stable. Brandon and I have had giggling dance parties singing Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. We've had competitive games of UNO amidst holiday music and enjoyed Christmas movie dinner picnics, as more wrapped gifts find their way under the three. And one evening my heart melted on the floor as I caught Brandon walking up to our nativity scene and whispering, "I love you" to the baby Jesus.
...that hour when the kids are in bed and it's just us, a fuzzy blanket, some warm French Vanilla, and winter finales on the TV.
Happy December. Wishing you lots of merry, laughter and many reasons to smile.
