"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2016"

Jaden: When we weren't at the carnival this weekend, you could be found in the "Bubble Pool" at the Falls playing hours of basketball in the water. While most kids your age are climbing the steps to the big water slides over and over again, you take your one trip down your favorite orange slide and then head straight to the hoops for the rest of the day. During one of our pool visits this weekend, the lifeguard took the ball away because some other kids in the area wouldn't stop hanging off the rim. It happened twice, and both times you waited the 20-30 minutes for the lifeguard to give the ball back, anchoring yourself right under that hoop until you were free to play again. You've definitely grown since last summer when you were a little bit shy to insert yourself into a game. This summer you throw yourself right into the mix.

Brandon: We didn't spend a whole lot of time at Sturgis this weekend, but I knew we needed to get you to that carnival. You love the little coaster, but you sets your sights higher this year. Much higher. It was so funny to watch you at the top of that ferris wheel. I feel like a broken record these days, but I can't wait to get my adventurous little boy to Disney.
