Another pandemic holiday. They just aren't the same, but I was determined to still make Thanksgiving special, and we ended up having a pretty good weekend.
Thanksgiving day and night was just us. We spent the day with food and kitchen work. We unboxed a wedding gift for the first time in order to cook our first turkey in our own home, and we were extra thankful that we had remodeled our kitchen in the spring because this Thanksgiving meal just wouldn't have happened in our old kitchen.
And yes... I still made everyone get dressed up. ;)
The Friday after we headed over to Great Grandma and Grandma's to help them decorate their yard for Christmas. The kids had a good time with this... especially Brandon. I'm thinking he could probably earn some good cash doing this sort of thing through high school. ;)
We missed our traditional Friday night Holiday Hoopla but still joined in on the driving parade that took us through our sweet downtown... and especially loved seeing Santa at the end with his real, live reindeer on the plaza!
Saturday was a beautiful and fun day at the Christmas tree farm. More to come from that day...
And the rest of our weekend was quiet with gingerbread cookie and house decorating, movies and Christmas books, and lots of twinkle lights and cozy blankets.
