Valentine's Day 2021

My least loved holiday, but always looking for any excuse to make those mundane late-winter days feel a little extra special.

Kaitlyn's Big Girl Bed!

In February we transitioned Kaitlyn out of her crib and into her big girl bed! She handled the transition SO well. We really didn't have any issues at all. And I loved my new opportunity to lay down beside her and cuddle up next to her at bedtime while reading books to her. And now, several months later, we have to spend the first few minutes of bedtime picking out which stuffed animals, dolls and toys she wants to bring into bed with her each night. ;)

I was very thankful to Brandon for helping tear down her crib and put her entire bed together pretty much all by himself. Of course we had to document the final moments in the crib. It was a sentimental moment knowing we were taking it down for the last time with our last baby. Of course I'm making Cody hang on to the crib just in case there are grandbabies in our future. :)

7th Grade Holmes Basketball Season

Watching you in your first junior high basketball season was so much fun and made our winter a little brighter. You shined, Jaden. You became a reliable scorer and a player that the coaches would ask for input mid-game from the bench or the sidelines. Your team only lost two games all season - one in a heartbreaking close overtime. And the highlight of the season was watching you score a career-high 18 points and nail both free throws at the end of the game to help secure your victory over cross-town rival, Peet Junior High. I was so dang proud of you in that game. The gym was packed, the crowd was loud, the game was being livestreamed and watched by MANY... and your lock down defense and three-point shooting was on fire - even under pressure. 

Can't wait for more.
