Spring -- From the Phone
I upgraded my phone last Friday in preparation for a big summer ahead. My storage capacity was consistently maxed out on my previous phone, but my new phone has double the capacity - just in time for all the baby pictures and videos sure to be taken come July! But first... time to dump all the images of spring...
||Panther Friday at school to support our basketball team in St. Louis.
||Brandon got to go on his first hunting trip with Daddy during his birthday weekend. They joined a couple of Cody's buddies in Southern Iowa, camped out in a friend's house for a couple of nights... and had themselves an incredible bonding experience. Cody said Brandon was an absolute rock star the whole weekend, and I loved the images that were sent home to us while Jaden and I attended his basketball tournament that weekend.

||The way the light shines in our bedroom windows - I've kept the decor simple, fresh and bright in here. And I love how this room feels like my sanctuary.
||...and preparations for baby girl's room. New crib sheets delivered, the first touches of pink in our house.
||The start of the basement build out. This is just one of the rooms being worked on, and we've already come so far! This was one big "bowling alley" room until we divided it in two and built Jaden's bedroom at the end. It's made the whole space so much more cozy already, and we aren't done yet. The family room will get some minor work this fall/winter when we touch up the fireplace, build a new mantle... and eventually shiplap those walls!
||Spring in the sun room. When the weather is just right, all the windows get opened, and this room is a gem. We have plans for a new desk in here by the time I get back from maternity leave, and I can't wait to make this room my office space.
||Brandon's desire to read more of his Bible after receiving his own at church up on stage one Sunday morning. His heart makes me so happy.
||Nana Deanne's traditional new baby quilt... a fun shopping trip to pick out fabric for baby girl.
||The final tournament of the season, a nice trophy earned, and posters made for the whole team - now framed nicely and awaiting permanent placement on Jaden's new bedroom walls.
||Family visits to the rec center after school.
||How we all joke that this whole room is for the cat. She hogs the chairs, gives you nasty looks if you steal her spot... and curls up in the funniest positions while she watches the birds and squirrels out the window.

||Brandon's first track season. It was a bit of a bummer due to many weather problems, but he stuck with it and has plans to do it again next year!

||Brandon surprising me with toast in a bed during a 24-hour tummy bug. My favorite part was the Star Wars plate he put it on... and that he found our breakfast trays we hadn't used since moving. ;)

...followed by a beautiful night in our own backyard. These are my happiest times.

||Waking up with the birds and before the rest of the house - a quiet morning with my cat, my book and the open windows.
||A squirt gun/trampoline casualty. His first black eye - just ahead of family pictures!
||Main Street strolls with ice cream and a car show. Jaden's heaven. :)
||The first backyard barbecue of the year. Cody whipped up a feast!
||How much she loves hanging with us on the front porch. She's usually pretty good about staying within her boundaries... until she spots a squirrel. ;)
||So many birds all the time! We continue to work on this backyard and fall more in love with it every day. It is one of our greatest joys and blessings.

||First loads of baby laundry. These little clothes smell so good and look so precious hanging in her closet.
||Putting the crib together on Mother's Day. Her bedding is my favorite.
||An after dinner stroll up Main Street... one of our favorite places.
||All the front porch hangs. Pizza out of the box on a busy night, ice cream on the steps after family pictures, and books and iced coffee while Lucy keeps an eye out for bugs.
||Text messages like this out of the blue. He later confessed that he spelled oompa loompa wrong but it was the sentiment that counted. ;)

||Rainy Sundays and bike accidents with neighbor boys.
||Additional pieces for the nursery and the way the lamp light glows in this pretty room at night.
||Panther Caravan on the river and all the kind compliments on my "cute belly" from our Panther family. These people know how to make a mama feel good and lovely!
||Jaden left his seat to get a drink of water, and she took over. It's her world we're living in.
||Yahtzee nights on the back table - he's getting pretty good at it! We actually scored an exact tie during this game. ;)
||Taking a break from emails to enjoy this belly view. Cody's co-workers bought us the most beautiful baby shower gifts, including this crib sheet, and I have found this same bedding set for a big girl bed when she gets a little older!
||A Friday night to myself to kick off Memorial Day weekend. Cody took the boys to see Solo in the theater, and Lucy and I listened to the thunder rolling in from the protection of the front porch. I ate takeout, started a new book... and caught up on my Netflix while the boys were gone!
