Sunday Morning Fishing

On a whim, we decided to skip church one Sunday morning, pick up some donuts and find ourselves a picnic/fishing spot.

It was a picture perfect day, sunny and warm but not too hot. We ate our box of doughnuts, sipped our juice and iced coffee, and celebrated the start of summer and the end of another school year. And only 30 seconds after putting his line in the water, Jaden had caught his first fish of 2018. :) Brandon wasn't quite so lucky - he got lots of tugs on his line but no permanent bites - and eventually the boys discarded their fishing poles for sticks and toes in the water.

I sat back with my toes in the sand, watched my boys bond over worms and casting lessons... and envisioned a baby girl on my lap very soon.

Our morning in pictures...

22/52

"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2018"

Jaden: You are perfectly comfortable in your new bedroom, but we still find you in your old bedroom (now the baby's room) once in a while. I think you just try to avoid going down the basement steps sometimes when you're looking for some privacy. ;) You're back into the grind this week, with summer basketball workouts starting back up tomorrow. You've missed your Outlaw family after almost three months off, and it will be good for you to reunite!

Brandon: I caught you sitting at our picture window staring at the birds just like your daddy. Your great grandpa Tako would be so tickled by this! You've gotten into origami lately and requested a Star Wars origami book from Michael's over the weekend. That creative mind of yours is always working!
