Though this weather sure isn't acting like spring, we are highly anticipating all the things ahead! I have a baby shower coming up, our wedding anniversary, a fun wedding to attend, a track season about to start for Brandon... and many other big and small things happening over the next couple of months. It's time to de-clutter this phone storage and share some images of winter before we fill it up again with warm weather photos (hopefully)!
|| The UNI basketball season wasn't as successful as we would hope for, but our boys had lots of fun attending games again this season. Jaden very rarely sat with us, instead always finding friends or teammates to hang out with. And even Brandon began wandering to other seats more and more as the season progressed. Next year we'll have a little babe in our laps... and hopefully a few more wins in the W column! ;)
|| We didn't play in the snow a whole lot but I did put the boys to work shoveling quite often. And every once in a while, there were light saber fights in the backyard...
|| Brandon has continued his guitar lessons, though the schedule gets a little challenging this time of year as it starts interfering with track practice. He knows how to look up guitar sheet music on the iPad whenever he wants to teach himself a new song.
|| New windows were installed in December, and it has made such a difference. I especially love the impact they made in our four-seasons room, and it's my favorite spot in the house to curl up and read a book. Now if the weather would just allow us to open them all up...
|| Brandon received his Bible as an Orchard Hill 2nd grader up on stage in front of the congregation - on the same day that Jaden celebrated his 10th birthday!
|| An incredibly busy, successful and fun basketball season with our Outlaw family.
|| Finding out we are having a baby GIRL, a growing baby bump, lots of fun shopping... and shots in the belly every night.
|| Christmas at Hick's Place with friends. There wasn't any snow on the ground, but we did spend a good two-three hours sitting by the fire while the kids played laser tag, drank lots of hot cider... and played with the new baby calves.
|| Star Wars in the theater just before Christmas... the three boys enjoying a night out dressed in their Star Wars best, while Mommy endured "morning" sickness with take-out food, Netflix... and a quiet Friday night by the tree.
|| A quick two-day trip to California the week before Christmas. Not an ideal time to be away from home, but at least the views are always pretty.
|| A Christmas spent entirely in our own home... and a long Christmas break of pajamas, board games, ultrasounds... and making our baby news public on New Year's.
|| Continuing to make this house a home. Pieces from the new Target Magnolia line for the living room mantle, a first fire in the basement fireplace... and a master bedroom that makes me feel calm and happy.
|| A younger brother that goes with the flow - helping mop up the floor before an Outlaws' basketball practice, and earning a medal from Jaden's coach at the end of one tournament - making his day.
|| My verse for 2018.
|| My favorite breakfast - delivered one Sunday morning by Nana and Papa during the 1st trimester yuckies.
|| How sweet the little table by his bed perfectly depicts who he is. A Star Wars clock, a Lego mini-build, a cup of water... and a picture of his baby sister. He has kept her right there ever since he first saw her.
|| Fresh air when we can.
|| Our backyard space and views. We longed for trees and animals and plenty of space to run and gather. There is always some form of entertainment - whether it be squirrels performing yoga-like moves on the hanging bird feeders, deer coming right up to our windows.... or birds accidentally flying into said windows... this space suits us perfectly.
|| Ninja night at church followed up with Mexican food and some one-on-one time with our youngest while big brother attended a sleepover.
|| His first phone... and how weird and cool it is to receive text messages from our 10 year old's own phone number!
|| Finding books in the fridge after homework. One of our children has a one-track mind most of the time... ;)
|| A bedtime routine that still includes Bible chapters and chapter book reading time together.
|| A first year of Cub Scouts, some important volunteer work... and a fun post card received in the mail from a very special place... ;)
|| A text message to Jaden's phone received from THE Seth Tuttle right before competing in the State Championship. This was incredibly special and something none of us will ever forget.
