"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2018"

Jaden: You were so happy that your basketball tournament was cancelled over Thanksgiving weekend so that you could attend the UNI football playoff game after all. Luckily the Panthers pulled out the W or it would have been quite the downer! You spent your Thanksgiving weekend eating, watching sports, playing video games, going to practice... and sitting on Santa's knee. ;) That last activity was your favorite of all. ;)

Brandon: You had initially said that you didn't want to go see Santa this year, making us wonder what was going on in that head of yours. But you changed your mind just in time for a trip to the tree farm and a place on Santa's lap. And once you sat down with the big guy, you didn't hesitate to give him your list. We'll see if he pulls through! ;)

Kaitlyn: Oh baby girl. Thanksgiving day proved to be a bit much for you. You were initially terrified of all of the new faces crowding you and were quickly overwhelmed with all the unwanted attention. It was an interesting few days, with a lot less napping, more middle of the night waking, and an obvious upset to your normal routine and schedule. But despite all of that, you were such a joy to have by my side over this long break, and I don't know how it's possible but you become more and more beautiful by the day. There's something special in those eyes of yours, and I love the way you love me so strongly.
