"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2019"

Jaden: It seems the only pictures I get of you these days are with medals around your neck! ;) You jump started 2019 with another tournament championship... and a completely full trophy/medal shelf! In less than three years of playing, you have completely maxed out your space to hold your hardware, and we're working on finding a new place to display all of your accomplishments. Now if we could just figure out why your hip that bothered you during football season is starting to bother you again. :/

Brandon: Your Star Wars room looks pretty complete now with its new mural on the wall! Instead of joining us for basketball this past weekend, you hung back for a guy's day with Papa Tim. You went to Ella's soccer game in the Dome, went to iHop for lunch (and the Hydrant for dinner!), took over a lane at the bowling alley, and then camped out at our house with cousin Ivy until the rest of us made it back to town. You are always such a trooper on our basketball trips, but I was glad that you had the opportunity to have a special day for yourself this past weekend.

Kaitlyn: Oh sweet girl. We've been weaning you off of nursing the past couple of weeks. It was time - for both you and for me. You have gotten increasingly hungry, and Mommy needed to be able to pass off feeding times to other people once in a while. However, I thought I was completely done with it on Saturday night until you threw an absolute hysterical fit in church yesterday morning. You never sit through a whole service so the two of us went for a long walk - making the rounds through the atrium, the coffee shop... and even spending some time with the other littles in the church nursery for a bit. But towards the end of our hour together, you started crying inconsolably, and I couldn't go back into the service where your diaper bag was to grab your bottle and formula without disrupting everyone else in the place! So I carried you into the mother's room for one last nursing session. And it didn't get lost on me that God gave us that one last unexpected feeding time together right there in the church. Just the two of us in that cozy private space sharing that one last moment together. I'm so glad that my last time feeding you was such a memorable and unplanned moment. I'll never forget staring down at you in that church rocker, stroking your cheek, listening to the worship music going on nearby, and thanking God for the one millionth time that He gave me you. I love you to the moon.
