"a portrait of each of my children, once each week, in 2018"

Jaden: You had your first real tackle football game this weekend, and even though you guys came up just shy of the win (if there were just five more seconds at the end of the game, you would have had it), you did so very well, bud. It was both surreal and incredibly fun watching you out there fulfilling your passion. I couldn't believe how poised and confident you looked quarterbacking your squad, and you definitely are right where you belong when you're out on that field. Gosh these years are going to be so fun.

Brandon: The spotlight was all yours on Saturday. You not only won your very first flag football game - but you scored a two point conversion and ran the entire length of the field for your first touchdown, too. You also played a little bit of quarterback - and center - and you even managed to record your first tackle when going for a flag pull. ;) I wish I had your touchdown run on video. The play actually was broken at the beginning, and I thought you were going to take a huge loss of yards, but you managed to break free from the pack, and the look of determination on your face as you sped up that sideline towards the end zone was really something to see. You look good out there, and I'm so glad you had fun, too!

Kaitlyn: You looked so cute in your football cheer outfit both days this weekend, and you did really good at both games until the 4th quarter of Jaden's game when you decided you were hot and got real mad. ;) I'm pretty sure the entire football stadium heard you for a few minutes there, but your smiles when we got home made it all forgotten. :)
